Are your employees constantly lighting up outside?

Smoker treatments Researchers at Duke University found that the total cost of smoking (the cost of cigarettes, lost earnings, impact on insurance and mortality) runs about $40 per pack for the average 24 year old.

The economic burden of smokers totals more than $80 billion per year from lost productivity, and $75 billion per year in medical expenditures.

Smokers lose at least one decade of life expectancy, as compared with those who have never smoked. Cessation before the age of 40 years reduces the risk of death associated with continued smoking by about 90%.
